DiBcom is an integrated circuits fabless company specializing in the development of broadband wireless solutions following DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) and other broadband communication standards. The company was founded in June 2000 by a team of people with almost 8 years of common working experience. It grew up to several locations in 2005 (Paris, Hong Kong, Germany, Taipei, Shanghai), with a wide range of experts covering all aspects of digital wireless communication, i.e., digital signal processing, hardware silicon and reference design implementation, reference system design, system level approach, embedded and evaluation software. For over a year, DiBcom has been boosted its numbers and now has a team over 130 people. The company is now established in 9 countries all over the world.

DiBcom currently has the leading solution for portable and mobile access to DVB-T signals, offering up to 99% service availability and up to 200 km/h reception, as well as the first fully compliant DVB-H chip in the World.

Mobility, Proven Performance and Low Power are the three keywords of DiBcom.

The founders of DiBcom have been working together in the field of digital television and data broadcasting since the beginning of the digital standards in the early 90's, which provides a very strong system level approach and implementation know-how to the company. With most design engineers coming from large companies in the operator, equipment and semiconductor areas, DiBcom has the expertise to offer the best silicon solutions in the coming years for a wide range of vendors on applications such as Car TV receivers, PND, mobile phones, PCs and laptops, Portable Media Players (PMP) and portable TV decoders (Set Top Boxes, Integrated LCD TV).

In August 2005, the announcement of a capital increase of 24.5 M€ has allowed DiBcom to significantly expand its sales and marketing presence in Asia and the United States, as well as extend its mobile TV product roadmap.

In July 2007, DiBcom has announced the closing of its fifth round of financing at €20 million, bringing its total funding to date to €60 million. This additional funding will enable DiBcom to further accelerate international growth and consolidate its leadership position as mobile TV markets in Europe and worldwide take off.

In December 2007, DiBcom obtains funds from two major Japanese investors. It is a strategic investment to penetrate the Mobile TV Japanese market.
